Location location location....

The Chronicles of Caleath are set in a world light years away from Rampart 6. This hub of galactic enterprise and development is the birthplace of our hero and a few other characters in the tales. Here we have scope to explore an obsession with full immersion computer games, stimulant use and detoxing, experiments with nanobots, clones and fuels for star travel, It is here our hero enjoyed an illustrious career as a surveyor of planets. The science fiction aspect of these novels brings a unique mix to the hero and his nemesis among other less reputable space travellers who drop in from time to time.

We need not travel to these locations for them to form important aspects of our character's past. They help flesh out his history and add depth to the chronicles.

Locations are vital to set mood, nurture cultures and create drama. This waterfall scene gives an impression of the pristine world Caleath must survive.
Looks though, can prove deceptive.
As we well know.

Despite the idyllic landscape, there are dangers and driving forces dogging Caleath's heels.
While he is driven to find a way to escape,  he must first survive assassins, ghosts and magic weilding mages. When he reaches the southern continent, Sharyac, his plans should see him return to his home world and wreak vengeance on his old enemy.

I am NASITH

I am Nasith.
As the Ferran Il'thane I am the keeper of our people's history. We live high in the mountains to the north of Allorn. Our culture might seem fragile, but our nature is resilient and our warriors are fierce. Some among us have talents that give us an advantage as hunters. Don't ever underestimate the courage or determination of the Ferran clans. We survive where others seldom venture.

My journey begins in the Autumn when I leave my home to travel toward Sharyac's Tor. The Council of Mages has called a meeting of Alliance leaders. I will represent the Ferran.

Travelling under the protection of Council rangers, there seems no danger apart from the occasional presence of Tarack scouts. These giant ants are causing concern across the country. Five nations will combined their forces to drive these creatures from our lands. So far they have only been seen rarely north of the Castilian River. As the cold weather sets in the creatures appear to be returning to their nest.

My companion is a hawk called Teale. Through her eyes I can see the world from a different perspective. She allows me to share her vision and keeps me out of danger.

The three council rangers who ride with me speak at length of a strange young man, Caleath, a stranger to our shores.
One of the rangers, is obsessed with killing this man. I don't understand his reasoning. They both hail from the same world, a distant homeland on a planet far away. Strange talk, strange times. Leaving the mountains of my home without an escort of my own clansmen seems more perilous as each day dawns and winter draws closer.

You can read my story in Book One of The Chronicles of Caleath, EXILED: Autumn's Peril... in September 2011

Little Aussie Premmies... Wearing GREEN Today....

Wear GREEN for Premmies....
My darling grand daughter was born 100 days early. Weighed 808gms. Went through so much to survive. A true miracle.
Now she is three and a half and growing into an amazing little girl. Still every day is a miracle.
Her hugs are the most precious. Her smiles illuminate my life. She may never know how much she means to her grandmother, but she is the light of my life.
Today I will be wearing green to remember the prems we have known. Celebrating the lives of those who survived the trauma of the NICU, grieving with the families of those who didn't make it.
They say the little ones don't remember...
Our little one talks about people visiting her little house... when she was in hospital. She says she was very little when she was in hospital and her tummy hurt all day. She's seen the photos...

There was a day, when she was visiting the hospital for her 12mth check up when she MET another prem from across the aisle in the NICU.
Now.. these tiny ones had never MET.. only shared the same ward. Yet the both reacted in an astonishing fashion. Tiny babies who wanted to hold each other, smiled, shook with excitement. Ignored mothers and all esle for the time they held each other.
These children are miracles.
The people who care for them are heroes.
The experience has changed my life.

My precious little one has grown into an amazing three and a half year old sweetheart. She is precious and cheeky, she is bright and loving and can be naughty. Totally spoilt by all who know her. What can we do. Everyday with her is special. The way she looks at life, bears pain stoically, loves deeply and brings joy into our lives, must be exhausting. Some days she crashes, might sleep for seventeen hours. We know she is fragile, delicate and every moment with her is priceless.
The love, the faith the strength...
it is all overwhelming
So... I wear green today and applaud
all those who are raising awareness of
the miracles among us.
